The first Super Bowl was actually just called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game back in 1967. The owners were trying to think of a catchier name to attach to the big game until one day when Lamar Hunt, the founder of the AFL, was watching his daughter play with her super ball and the term "Super Bowl" popped into his head.
