I was listening to NPR last night where they reported a study that showed that in sports, teams who wear red uniforms win 10% more often than teams who wear blue uniforms. The theory is that the color red is subliminally associated with male dominance and agression which causes an increase in the testosterone level.
As an avid sports fan and someone who has an unhealthy obsession with statistics, I decided to do my own little study. I found that teams whose dominant color is red (Redskins, 49ers, Chiefs) are 10-4 in Super Bowls while teams whose dominant color is blue (Patriots, Rams, Giants) are 15-14.
Here's the complete rundown as, once again, I never fail to keep my readers on the edge of their seats with the most intriguing breakthrough news stories of the day:
Red: 10-4 (71%)
Green: 4-3 (57%)
Blue: 15-14 (52%)
Black: 7-7 (50%)
Teal: 2-3 (40%)
Orange: 0-4 (0%)
Purple: (don't ask)

I heard about that study too yesterday. Red is a great color but I didn't think it was that powerful!

In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Purple is fo' girlie men." I guess that is why the Vikings will never claim a national victory. Hmmm...interesting that green is near the top in your study. ; )
I don't know if Arnold ever said that above. But I can imagine him saying it. Does that count?
