My opinion of Randy Moss took another nose-dive after reading this article. I like him better when he doesn't talk.
Regardless of that, I'm still going to cheer for him on Sunday. Imagine that! But this brings up another example of how God's glory is reflected in football. The only thing that justifies us before God is when we are covered in the blood of Christ. The only thing that justifies Randy Moss before me is when he is covered in purple and gold. It is the purple that I look upon with pleasure, not Randy. I want good things to happen for Randy simply because I value the purple that he wears. God wants good things to happen to me simply because he values the righteousness of the One who died for me. Martin Luther says that Christians are like "snow-covered dung." I guess that makes Randy Moss purple-covered dung.
Of course there are some differences if you press this analogy too far. Randy will not be a Viking forever. I will be a Christian forever. I am not sovereign and cannot guarantee that Randy will persevere in Purpleness. God IS sovereign and CAN guarantee that I will persevere in faith. All that aside, I would be the happiest if Randy would bow the knee before his Creator, even if he were a Packer. (Did I just say that?!)
Speaking of the Packers, I can't wait to watch them play this weekend. I think they're playing...ummm...let's see...uh...NOBODY! HA! Cuz we knocked them boys out last week!!!! Sorry, I had to get it out of my system one more time.
